6th BSSM International Conference on Advances in Experimental Mechanics 09/09/2008
 
The 2008 British Society for Strain Measurement Conference on Advances in Experimental Mechanics will offer industry and academia the opportunity to present current developments in experimental mechanics at the National Physical Laboratory.

Taking place from the 9th to the 11th of September 2008, The conference programme will include a number of opportunities to visit the facilities at NPL - a series of laboratory visits will be organised as part of the conference to showcase some of the leading edge work being carried out.

Conference highlights:
The BSSM Measurements Lecture: Dr Richard Burguete, Airbus, UK. "The Importance of Experimental Mechanics in Solving Aerospace Problems".

Keynote lecture 1: Prof. Margaret Lucas, University of Glasgow, UK, “Application of Power Ultrasonics in Engineering”

Keynote lecture 2: Prof. Fabrice Pierron, Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers (ENSAM), France, “Identification of Materials Mechanical Properties from Full-Field Measurements: Latest Advances in the Virtual Fields Method”
