Two shop front windows in the Broadmarsh shopping centre in Nottingham have been turned into giant, animated advertising displays by projecting images from digital projectors onto the insides of windows equipped with 3M Vikuiti Rear Projection Film

The patent pending technology has been developed by the US company, WindowGain, which has just opened an office in the UK. Among their first customers in Britain is The Westfield Group, the world’s largest retail property group with assets valued at more than $50 billion.

The film can be applied to the inside of any window. Up to six video projectors are placed inside the room behind using edge blending technology developed by WindowGain. Screens can be up to 200 sq ft (18.5 sq m) in size. By using 3M Digital Signage Software, WindowGain can mange content distribution and playout remotely, including direct uploading of new content to multiple sites nationally within minutes.
