According to Trevor Baylis, in his forward to the UK edition of, “Inventing for dummies”, “To be an inventor you need an ego the size of a truck and have to be prepared for a rough ride
. Invention is frequently one per cent inspiration and 99 per cent litigation”.
For those who are not put off by this warning, the advice in the book aims to smooth the ride, covering the key stages of, “Assessing your idea”, “Protecting your idea”, “Developing your idea”, “Preparing to enter the market”, “Developing Your Market”, and “The Part of Tens”, which includes, “Ten Key Contacts”, “Ten Inventions (and Inventors) that changed the world” and “Ten inventors to emulate”.
The book is written by: Peter Jackson, a patent attorney and intellectual property consultant with Trevor Baylis Brands, Philip Robinson, a successful inventor and former marketing manager with Trevor Baylis Brands, and Dr Pamela Riddle Bird, a recognised commercialisation expert. The advice within its pages is easy to read, and well worth the £15.99 cover price.
