Power tools giant Black & Decker says it has gone for Windchill PLM (product lifecycle management) software from PTC, with a goal of speeding time to market in its Industrial Products Group.
Its implementation includes Windchill PDMLink, ProjectLink, PartsLink and Enterprise Systems Integration (ESI) to SAP.
John Howson, vice president global engineering at Black & Decker, says the company wanted to support collaboration and data management across its heterogeneous CAD environment in order to maximise its existing CAD and PDM (product data management) investments.
“As a global company with many design centres and manufacturing locations around the world, we have complex collaboration and data management requirements,” he says. “Windchill now gives us the capability to easily integrate across our regions and functional groups.”
