Participating in Qinetiqs graduate development scheme, Chris Burden, Julien Cuzon and Sophie Chudziak applied innovative thinking to develop the design for their entry – Eurydice.

The philosophy of the design was driven by efficiency, comfort and elegance. The idea of a trimaran/monohull hybrid is inspired by the pursuit of a low environmental impact yacht with large usable deck area that maintains comfort and aesthetics to the highest possible level.

Team project manager, Chris Burden, said: "Our complex hull and design offers many advantages from structural strength, seakeeping, powering, endurance, and stability, through to increased upper deck space. We are thrilled to have got this far in the competition and prove our design prowess."
