PIM3605 is a new, pluggable intelligent minidrive from Technosoft which has been adapted for motion control applications where space is critical.

Intelligent Plug in Minidrive with CANopen InterfaceManufactured with simple pins, the drive has an architecture designed to allow for faster assembly and installation. Its size and weight (67 x 43 x 20mm, 27g) allows it to be placed inside the machine or near the motor. The drive controls brushless, DC, linear or step motors up to 180W (36V, 5A) continuous and 600W (36V, 16A) peak power.

The hardware structure of PIM3605 integrates basic motor control functions on a single module. A series of I/O signals, digital and analogue, are available for interfacing with the application. Incremental encoders, digital and linear Halls are incorporated by default. The drive is programmable with the EasyMotion software and Technosoft Motion Language, with a set of instructions explaining how to define and start complex motion sequences from a CAN master via PC / PLC using the appropriate motion library, or how to execute prestored motion sequences selected from I/O lines, in a stand-alone mode.

According to Technosoft, it has the ability to run complex motions without requiring any external controller and the movement sequences can be programmed directly on the drive, while system control functions are handled from the supervising PC or PLC. Motion modes as contouring, profiling, gearing, electronic camming or PVT are easily executed in stand alone or multi-axis configurations.
