Faulhaber has expanded its encoder product line with the addition of the PA2-50 and PA2-100.
Focusing on miniature motor feedback development, Faulhaber says that it provides high resolution, low current draw optical encoders in different diameters from 6mm.
In terms of feedback of DC-Micromotors, the company says that it now packs 50 lines per revolution into a 6mm and 100 lines per revolution into an 8 up to 12 mm diameter package. Optimised for this application, a custom designed codewheel maximises the reflected light, increasing the
system's efficiency and signal reliability.
According to Faulhaber, the PA2-xx optical technology delivers 50 / 100 lines per revolution before quadrature and because it operates between 2.7 to 3.3VDC, low voltage battery applications continue running for longer with higher resolution and more robust feedback signal reliability.
The long battery life comes from a low inertia codewheel and a current draw of 8 / 8.5mA.
The Faulhaber product range is exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Electro Mechanical Systems.
