IMSI is offering a free version of its DoubleCAD software, DoubleCAD XT as a companion to Autodesk AutoCAD LT.
 It is described as an Autodesk AuoCAD "Workalike" which allows the opening of a variety of CAD files formats and then, most importantly, their editing.
Facilities include: self aligning blocks, transparent fills, Bezier curves, flatten 3D to 2D views, hatch pattern editor, polyline editing, automatic scaling of units between drawings, embed/bind image files in drawing, snap prioritization, brush editor, smart dimensions, line, arc and circle tools, multiline and fixed ratio ellipse tools, workflow with Google Sketchup and SketchupPro, and the editing of a variety of files. The software can open and save .DWG, .DXF and .DWF formats from AutoCAD R14 to 2009.
A full version of DoubleCAD costs £425 plus VAT and IMSI's 2D and 3D TurboCAD Pro v16, £648.68.
