Entries Invited For 2003 Autodesk Inventor Design Contest 03/07/2003

Chance to win fully featured HP xw4100 workstation in contest co-sponsored by HP
Autodesk is inviting entries to this year’s Autodesk Inventor Design Contest. Now in its second year, the contest is an opportunity for all Autodesk Inventor users in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to showcase products they have designed using Autodesk Inventor.
The contest is co-sponsored by HP and the best design entries have a chance to win the first prize of a fully featured HP xw4100 workstation, one of the most powerful workstations available, with Pentium 4, 3.0GHz, 1GB-DDR RAM, 80GB hard disk, 980XGL graphics, Windows XP Professional and DVD/CD-RW drive plus a copy of the latest release of Autodesk Inventor. There are also ten runner-up prizes of an HP iPAQ personal digital assistant.
To enter the competition, customers are invited to submit a screenshot, model, drawing or animation of one or more of their designs. Entries covering all aspects of mechanical design are welcome, from machinery design to consumer products, and from small parts to large assemblies.
According to Wolfgang Lynen, product marketing manager, Manufacturing EMEA: “The variety and diversity of the Autodesk Inventor user community means that many of our customers have created great designs with Inventor across many areas of manufacturing design. The winning criteria are based on the aesthetic appeal of the design, the technical usage of the software and the description given to explain the company's use of Autodesk Inventor.”
Last year more than 40 designs were entered in the competition. The winning design was for a race engine for a Volkswagen Beetle, submitted by a designer working for Holzapfel Tuning in Germany.
The contest closes on 31st August 2003. For more details on the design contest, visit Autodesk Inventor Contest
