New safety light curtains feature a range up to 20m.

On a longer machine, where access could be possible along the whole length, some light curtains don't have the range to protect those nearby from straying into the danger zone. Now with a range up to an impressive 20m, ifm electronic offers machine builders and users alike a solution to go the distance.

ifm goes the distanceOn a longer machine, where access could be possible along the whole length, some light curtains don't have the range to protect those nearby from straying into the danger zone. Now with a range up to an impressive 20m sensor market leader ifm electronic offers machine builders and users alike a solution to go the distance.

These new longer range addition to the OY range of light curtains from ifm electronic Ltd meet Type 4 to IEC 61496, SIL3 to IEC 61508 and PLe to ISO 13849 and complement the devices launched earlier this year in the elegant slimlime housing measuring a mere 28mm x 30mm.

The long-range lightguards can be supplied with resolutions of 20mm, 30m, 40mm, 50mm or 90mm and protected area heights ranging from 160mm up to 1510mm, in 150mm increments.

So if, with the new Machinery Directive almost upon us, you are looking for Safety Integrity Levels 2 or 3 to IEC 61508 and Perfomance Levels d or e to ISO 13849, look no further. The OY series light curtains and grids are available as Type 2 or Type 4 to IEC 61496 in heights from 160mm to 1510mm covering distances up to 20m with resolutions from 14mm to 90mm. One thing they all have in common: a very slim housing, only 28mm x 30mm. The beams are incorporated right up to the end of the housing allowing installation without deadband

ifm is committed to working closely with its customers to develop products which precisely match their needs, and the company provides expert, readily accessible technical support to help users maximise the benefits they gain from ifm products.
