Now the political horse trading is over, it's time to get on with running the country again and the consensus is the economy - and reducing the country's borrowing - is priority number one.
Before the election, Findlay Media launched the Vote Manufacturing campaign to raise awareness of how important engineering and manufacturing are to our future prosperity. They are important because no other sectors have the same potential to turn the UK's economy around.
Despite the change in government, this remains unchanged and the campaign will continue to highlight its five priorities:
• Action on long term leadership
• Action on culture change
• Action on engineering skills
• Action on incentives and taxes
• Action on energy costs
Let's make sure the new government - and Industry Secretary Vince Cable - don't forget engineering and manufacturing's importance.
