Everything becomes lighter with aluminium

Sapa Profile AcademyAluminium over the last decade has become an increasingly more popular material to use in various applications and product solutions. Yet the knowledge of aluminium and profile construction is still low compared to more traditional materials. The formal education institutions have not, in our view, adequately paid attention to its development. Therefore, Sapa developed the Profile Academy, an educational experience that raises skills and increases the competitiveness of companies and designers. This is unique in the UK so please take the opportunity to join us.

Over two days you will meet Sapa experts, together with qualified lecturers, in an advanced course designed to demonstrate opportunities with aluminium.

Sapa's goal is to convey an understanding of the principles of materials, production, and construction technology. This training gives you the tools with which you can create the optimum profile solution. By attending our Profile Academy you will acquire the skills that will give you and your company a unique competitive advantage.

Profile Academy in brief:
- Principles and processes of the extrusion process
- Aluminium alloys
- Die design
- Profile design and construction for optimum production
- Design with regard to strength and fatigue
- Finishing
- Fabrication -
- Welding including Friction Stir Welding
- Workshop: examples and analysis of profile solutions from a design and costs standpoint.
