A list of the UK's most in demand engineering jobs of 2010 has been released by specialist technical and engineering recruitment consultancy IntaPeople.

Consultancy reveals most in demand engineering roles for 2010The research, which took into account the most frequently advertised engineering positions for the first six months of the year, showed that electronic, electrical and mechanical design engineers came 4th behind buyers, supply chain consultants and project managers.

The full list of top ten engineering roles included:
1. Buyers and cost engineers
2. Supply chain consultants
3. Planning engineers / project managers
4. Electronic, electrical and mechanical design engineers
5. Design draughtsman
6. Stress / structural engineers
7. Quality engineers
8. Manufacturing engineers
9. Software engineers
10. Engineering managers / operations directors

Chris Day, head of IntaPeople's engineering division, said:"Despite some difficult conditions, organisations across the country have continued to recruit highly talented engineers as they look to deliver innovative, market leading solutions. The strong demand for buyers and cost engineers is understandable as companies look to stay within budget, while the growing demand for logistical experts coincides with the launch of a number of exciting new projects around the country."
