Offering the potential for designers to reduce environmental impact
The range of renewably-sourced (RS) polymers from DuPont offers the potential for designers to reduce environmental impact by replacing conventional petroleum-based engineering plastics with no compromise on performance.
Sorona EP, a polyester containing 20-37% renewably-sourced material (derived from corn), offers similar performance and moulding to high performance PBT.
Hytrel® RS thermoplastic elastomers with 20-60% renewable content exhibit comparable performance to classic Hytrel®, whereas Zytel® RS long chain nylons based on PA1010 and PA610 have a renewable content of 100% and 63% respectively derived from castor oil.
