Ondrives has introduced a new range of Delrin POM and Peek Gf30 precision spur gears into its precision gear range of products.
The units start at 0.5 module going up to 3.0 as standard. Numbers of teeth start at 18 and go up to 250, depending on which module size is selected. Different bore sizes, tapped holes, keyways and pin holes can all be added to customer's specifications and complete specials are also quoted for and manufactured by the company.
According to Ondrives, the Peek Gf30 material was selected for use because of it's resistance against chemicals, high tensile and impact strength and for keeping its shape. In addition, the Delrin plastic material was chosen because it possesses good fatigue life, low moisture sensitivity and high resistance to solvents and chemicals. The semi crystalline engineering plastic is said to contain good electrical properties and is suitable for engineering applications and CNC machining.
