Variohm EuroSensor has launched a new range of IP67 rated potentiometric linear position transducers with a modular rod actuated design. According to the company, they are easily customised with spring returns, central threads and flange plates to adapt the high precision measuring sensor into applications across severe industrial, construction and agricultural automation environments.
 The TX2 series is available in eight standard measuring ranges from 25 to 300mm and has an independent linearity specification to 0.05% with positional repeatability to under 10 microns. Its IP67 rated usability under harsh conditions is aided with a double sealed actuating rod and metal mounting flanges for maximum protection against dirt, dust and humidity.
The standard TX2 includes backlash free pivot head mounting with a generous angle of free movement of up to +/-12.5dc to compensate for misalignment. It has a rated life of more than 50million movements and employs German manufacturer Novotechnik's conductive plastic resistance element technology.
This combines multiple printed ink technologies and multi fingered precious metal wipers with an elastomer damping mechanism to maintain complete contact under extreme shock conditions. The series can be supplied with a choice of IP67 rated 3pin M8 connector or a standard 2m cable which can be extended on request.
