Ultra-slimline bearings enable downsizing
02/11/2011 Email to a friend   Comment on this article
Schaeffler has developed a new slimline drawn cup needle roller bearing with a radial section height of just 1.5mm – a radical reduction for this type of bearing.

Ultra slimline bearings enable downsizingFor drawn cup needle roller bearings with diameters from 15-50mm, a 1.5mm section height is the current limit in terms of how small the bearing and cage can be manufactured. This means the new bearings are equivalent to plain bearings in terms of their external dimensions, making them ideal for replacing plain bearings in automotive applications such as automatic transmission systems and gearboxes.
