igus UK has announced a new range of maintenance-free, wear, corrosion and dirt resistant linear bearings.

The lightweight devices are said to offer a low coefficient of friction and operate on sliding plain bearings. This means that a larger surface area is available, resulting in lower surface pressures, lower friction and ultimately softer materials.

In keeping with the igus 'maintenance free' promise, the bearings are dry running, thus keeping applications free from grease, dirt and oil. Furthermore, they are grit and debris repellent and are said to operate with hardly any noise.
