Nord Drivesystems has extended its SK 500E range of control cabinet inverters to include the IEC 61131 compliant SK 540E.
The new 'intelligent' inverter is designed to support a wider range of drives than its sister models and is said to be able to control synchronous motors without an external PLC.
The module integrates a high performance microprocessor for high speed cutting processes in turning and milling, and provides the safety function Safe Torque Off.
A sensorless current vector control and brake chopper have been integrated for regenerative operation.
