Airbus and QinetiQ signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the recent Farnborough Air Show.
Airbus and QinetiQ signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the recent Farnborough Air Show.
The two companies have worked together for many years, in areas such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD), composite-based structural design and the creep age forming process that has helped to make the Airbus A380’s huge wings a reality.
The agreement promises to further advance the relationship with research and technology development in such areas as fluid mechanics, chemical fuel modelling, health monitoring systems and advanced landing gear developments. The results of these activities would find natural application into the whole aircraft.
Alain Garcia, Airbus executive vice president of engineering, said: “QinetiQ and Airbus have enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship over the years and I am very pleased to formalise it with the signing of an MOU.”
