Meeting market demand with Engineering Materials Live

The new Engineering Materials Live exhibition will open in Birmingham in May. This new event is being launched in association with Engineering Materials magazine to meet the needs of engineering professionals who are tasked with sourcing and specifying plastic mouldings, composites, prototyped parts and advanced materials.

In researching Engineering Materials Live, we conducted interviews with 400 design and production engineers that read Engineering Materials magazine, which revealed strong support for an event that brings the magazine content to a live face to face format. Selecting the right material for the right application is crucial to the success of any design project and production process, which means working with suppliers that have the materials expertise, know-how and application knowledge” said Luke Webster, publishing director at MA Business.

“This is why Engineering Materials Live has been launched – to meet the needs of UK engineering professionals who are constantly challenged to find new or innovative ways to improve their designs and solve production challenges”

Engineering Materials Live opens its doors on May 11th for a one-day exhibition at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham. The exhibitor portfolio includes leading suppliers showcasing the latest technologies in plastics, metal replacement, materials forming, sustainable materials, advanced composites, lightweighting, rapid prototyping and more.

At launch, the event has already welcomed support from significant names in this industry including; Albis, Arrk Europe, Crown Plastic Moudings, EMS Chemie, Distrupol, K.D Feddersen, Laser Lines, Micro Epsilon, Ogle Models & Prototypes, Pentagon Plastics, Plastic Products International and Plastribution.

Just as important as selecting the right materials, is knowing which fastening and bonding methods to use. Engineering Materials Live is co-located with the established Fastening & Assembly Solutions and Technology Exhibition (FAST). Running since 2005, the FAST Exhibition provides visitors with direct access to experienced application experts in fastening, bonding and assembly.

Six technical seminars will also run during these co-located events, focused on helping visitors solve design challenges in lightweighting, materials selection and multi-materials joining. The co-location of these two high-quality exhibitions will allow so much more to be achieved in a single visit for delegates.

Pre-registering for the event is easy and ensures free entry to the exhibition and seminar sessions. VIP visitors will also qualify for free access to the museum to experience the world’s largest collection of British motorcycles. The exhibitor list and seminar programme can be found online.
