Clearly inspired by the classic children’s TV show and subsequent Hollywood blockbuster franchise, the designers say it’s the first time a machine of this kind has been able to carry people in a functioning vehicle.
Brave Robotics’ YouTube channel states that J-deite RIDE is a two-seater electric vehicle that can change form into a humanoid-style robot, even while the passengers are inside the vehicle. While it is clearly tethered in the video, the process seems automated and takes just a few minutes.
As the video shows, when it is in robot mode it can also walk, albeit not very quickly.
