Seminar on plastic gears

For design engineers interested in learning about plastic and polymer composite gears, the British Mechanical Power Transmission Association (BMPTA) is holding a seminar on the subject next month. Dean Palmer reports

For design engineers interested in learning more about plastic and polymer composite gears and their application in industry, the British Mechanical Power Transmission Association (BMPTA) is holding its 'The pros and cons of using plastic gears' seminar on 16th September. The seminar will be hosted by two world-renowned experts in this field, Prof Doug Walton and Dr David Weale of the Power Transmission Laboratory, School of Engineering, University of Birmingham. Held at the University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, the seminar will give a broad overview of the unique properties of plastics and their use in appropriate applications.
