EtherCAT motion controller complements Mclennan's custom build service
Recently launched by Trio Motion and available from Mclennan, the Flex-6-Nano is a powerful integrated EtherCAT servo/stepper controller for high-speed synchronised motion and machine control. With up to 64 motion axes and I/O expansion, this modular motion controller is a perfect fit for Mclennan’s custom systems design and build service.
With factory loaded modules for 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 axes and with additional motion expansion through add-on axis modules, the din-rail mounted system also takes care of machine I/O and supplementary motion through Trio’s modular Flexslice input, output and axis modules.

The Flex-6 Nano is based on a dual core 1 GHz processor that offers EtherCAT cycle times as low as 125 microseconds allowing exceptional motion and machine synchronisation. The multitasking operating system includes a comprehensive motion library with electronic gearbox, axis interpolation, maths functions, robotic kinematic transformations and more. Programming is made easy with the TrioBasic motion language or through IEC611-31. With setup, diagnostics, and programming through Trio’s Motion Perfect software, the highly flexible motion controller system is also fully compatible with the UNIPLAY HMI 7” and 10” colour touch screen displays for stand-alone machine interaction. Built in DDR and flash memory as well as micro SD memory expansion provides ample programming and set-up headroom. The Flex-6 Nano and Flexslice is part of a Trio’s comprehensive range of advanced motion control products that combine precision control of open and closed loop stepper motors, all types of servo motors and other drive technologies in combination with machine I/O and various network communications modules such as Ethernet IP, Profibus, DeviceNET and CANopen.
