Hand tools ease fastener installation

A new range of hand tools from Tappex Thread Inserts has been designed to ease the installation of self tapping fasteners for plastics and metal alloys.

According to Tappex, it also ensures a more reliable joint, and incorporates easier insertion because of its more universal metric hexagon drive. It is centred to aid alignment with pillar drill or mill and has an 'O' ring said to prevent the alignment bush from falling off during use. The nose has been designed to install the insert to the correct depth, while the spigot on the nose of the mandrel positions the fastener sub-flush with the host material. According to Tappex, the extended nose enables the tools to be used where access is restricted.
