Igus extends iglidur tribo-tape range for automotive applications

Igus has launched the B160, a black option of its iglidur tribo-tape. The B160 is a suitable alternative to standard bearing solutions in automotive applications. The iglidur tribo-tape is said to offer low friction and noise dampening properties, and eliminates rattles and squeaks where there is a metal to metal or plastic contact; typical examples include leaf springs, steering columns, seating, window mechanisms and arm rests.

Reels of tribo-tape are offered in two standard widths 100 or 120mm, available with or without self-adhesive back, but can be ordered in any width up to and including 500mm; standard thickness is 0.5mm, without adhesive back, the 500mm width is 1.0mm thick.

Custom die cut parts are available, whether as a specially tailored by-the-metre product or freely designed prefabricated parts, from one-offs to high-volumes, custom parts can be produced according to the requirement.
