Industrial solenoids from Penny + Giles
Curtiss-Wright has completed the integration of industrial solenoid manufacturer Mechetronics Limited into its Penny + Giles Controls division in South Wales. The company has also increased capacity at the Cwmfelinfach design and manufacturing facility to accommodate the new product range.
Commenting for Curtiss-Wright Controls, president Tom Quinly says: "The integration of the Mechetronics product line provides extensive experience in the design of industrial solenoid actuators and solenoid valves to complement our existing aerospace and defense solenoid businesses in North America and Europe."
He goes onto say that the industrial solenoid design resource will remain in Cwmfelinfach UK, and that the site's manufacturing resource together with a facility in Zhuhai, China, will service global markets. The solenoid business was originally founded in 1918 and has earned it's reputation by designing reliable, cost-effective linear actuation solutions for a wide range of industries. Typical applications for solenoid actuators can be found in the following industries: Medium Voltage Switchgear; Safety & Security; Automotive Braking; Cash Handling; Business Machines; Vending & Gaming Machines; Off-Highway Specialist Vehicles.
A range of different product styles are available, including Open Frame linear solenoids, Tubular solenoids, AC Laminated solenoids, Latching solenoids, Holding magnets, Solenoid valves, and Solenoid locks & shotbolts..
The company has also produced a brochure and technical datasheet introducing its standard range of industrial solenoids. Commenting on the new brochure, Tom Quinly says: "Our experience as the UK's leading linear motion solutions provider tells us that many customers require bespoke solenoids or variations based on one of our standard designs so the brochure features only a small selection of the standard range of solenoids."
