Designed to extrude high quality filament for 3D printers from pellets or recycled plastic, the FilaFab system can be used to re-fills used spools, helping save money and cut waste.

The convenience of being able to produce extrusions from your own desk or workshop means that running out of materials need not be a worry again.

Financed by a successful KickStarter campaign, There are two versions of the extruder available, the EX100, suited to produce ABS and PLA, and the more powerful and robust EX350 which is able to produce ABS, PLA, EVA, HDPE, NYLON and more in a range of colours, helping to save 80% on the cost of readymade filament Filafab claim.

The winder spools under gravity and has digital motion control and a filament positioning slide to ensure the filament spools consistently. This is managed by an IR sensor which can compensate for deviations from the specified path. These spools are interchangeable and can be stored for use later or used straight away.
