New Technology CADCAM goes on the road with SOLIDWORKS 2017

With more than 250 new features and enhancements in CAD alone and a total of 520 new enhancements spread across all products, the latest release of SOLIDWORKS 2017 offers plenty for customers looking for the very best in CAD (MCAD and ECAD), simulation, data management and collaboration.

SOLIDWORKS is a solid modeler and is easy to learn and easy to use. Customers love that they can quickly and easily create design variations from a single model and view, rotate and even fly-through complex assembly designs for more clarity. With Wizards, experts and diagnostics tools to take the complexity out of CAD and powerful modelling tools that make it easy to create the complex forms needed, the software includes benefits that help users bring their designs to life quickly and cost-effectively. With SOLIDWORKS 2017, there are many core CAD improvements such as variable Chamfer, super features that convert Chamfer to a Fillet for flexible modeling, enhancements to import mesh files and better placement of components while mating that can deliver up to five times the performance over SOLIDWORKS 2016.

There are innovations in simulation with advanced nonlinear (arc length control) and better visualisation of hot spots, as well as over 100 enhancements in SOLIDWORKS Electrical. Plus, SOLIDWORKS 2017 is the first full major release for SOLIDWORKS PCB powered by Altium.

The collaboration between mechanical, electrical and PCB engineers lets SOLIDWORKS customers decrease development costs, significantly improve time to market and reduce the number of prototypes and errors. So, new things a-plenty? But how can you find out what’s going to help you improve your workflow and improve your design environment.

To demonstrate the new features in SOLIDWORKS 2017, New Technology CADCAM is holding a series of regional workshops. We have 20 years’ experience of helping engineers and product designers and over 2,600 SOLIDWORKS customers including Neville Johnson, Parker Knoll, Triton Showers and Robert Welch.
