How cycloidal gearboxes offer up to 60% efficiency savings

Cycloidal gearboxes or reducers are excellent for use in low-cost robotics applications, where high positioning accuracy with low backlash are required. In this week’s video, igus introduces a new cycloidal gearbox made from self-lubricating and maintenance free iglidur plastic.

Complementing the robolink family, of lightweight robotics systems, robolink C driven cycloidal gearbox is available as a standalone module. Or can be delivered as an assembly combined with an igus stepper motor. The plastic gears, which are lightweight, are up to 60% more efficient than their metal counterparts.
