igus chainflex cables target specialist applications

igus has extended its chainflex cable range to include newly developed flexible cables targeted specifically at the rail, lift and food industries

The new additions include the CF Special.544, CF Special.414, CF182.045 and CF182.001. The CF Special.544 is an anti-microbial cable for applications that require stringent levels of hygiene, such as the food and bottling industries. The cable's unique anti-microbial properties are contained throughout the composition of the jacket material, rather than just a coating, and limit the spread of micro-organisms.

The CF Special.414 is a halogen-free cable for dynamic moving applications in rail vehicles. It has low smoke and toxicity properties, is fire retardant, has a low toxic density, is safe and is designed in accordance with government fire regulations. The TPE core offers up to two million cycles in an igus energy chain.

For extremely high tensile loads, Ethernet cable CF182.045 and Profibus cable CF182.001 are suitable for hanging applications of up to 50m, such as those found in rack operating devices, hanging control units and elevators. Both cables feature a low-adhesive, highly abrasion-resistant PUR jacket material with embedded aramid webbing.
