igus liftband provides safe energy supply to vertical applications

e-chain specialist igus has developed a new cable carrier concept that can safely guide media such as power, data and air upwards.

liftband was inspired by a real customer application that needed a safe system to carry energy supplies to their machine vertically but had very limited installation space. With the new e-chain system, igus says customers can now do this very easily. liftband is designed to achieve heights of up to 5m but the actual installation area is flat; only the space and height of the recoiled cables is required.

According to igus, the device's frames can be 'mixed and matched' to suit the application requirements. Each component type can be clipped into the specially designed strain relieving mounting bracket with ease, so it is simple for the customer to press fit, lock in, or adjust the height of the cables.

The chain consists of a new style frame, rather than a standard chain link, and as a result, there is almost no friction or noise. In addition, the cable bending radius has little limitation.
