Tim’s Eureka moment

After nearly five years as Editor of <i>Eureka</i>, Paul Fanning will be leaving the magazine at the end of September. His considerable shoes will be filled by Tim Fryer, pictured, who will move across from <i>Eureka</i>'s sister publication <i>New Electronics</i>. Justin Cunningham is promoted to <i>Eureka</i>'s Technical Editor and retains Editorship of <i>Engineering Materials</i>.

With nearly three decades in the design and electronics engineering press, Tim is no stranger to the sector. He commented: "I trained as an engineer and have spent my career writing about it, so to be handed the editorship of this flagship title is my own 'Eureka moment'. And I promise not to use that cliché again." Paul's move, precipitated by getting the work/life balance better balanced (i.e. not spending four hours a day on the M25), provides an exciting challenge in its own right, as he takes the helm of the maritime engineering title 'Marine Propulsion'. All at Findlay Media wish him well in his new venture. He said: "I've thoroughly enjoyed my time on Eureka and will be sad to say goodbye. However, I couldn't be leaving it in better hands and have no doubt Tim will do a fantastic job." Tim can now be contacted by email on tfryer@findlay.co.uk or by phone on 01322 221144.
