Combustion engines and HVAC systems usually include mufflers to absorb some of the noise they make. To create the best muffler device, engineers often turn to simulation software to explore numerous design iterations instead of building and testing dozens of physical prototypes. Now, not only simulation experts can run these studies, but colleagues without simulation expertise can as well. Using the Application Builder in COMSOL Multiphysics, you can create an app to test different design adjustments and analyse results. In this blog post, we discuss how a simulation app can be used as a "dynamic specification sheet" for an absorptive muffler design.
