£2.4m funding for SBRI competition

'Novel wave energy convertor', an SBRI competition run by the Wave Energy Scotland (WES), is open for registration. Funded by the Scottish Government, WES supports the commercialisation of the wave energy sector and was set up as part of Highlands & Islands Enterprise.

The competition is for novel wave energy converter devices, specifically focused on the prime mover and structure. WES can offer up to £300K per project for up to 12 months for this first stage and is flexible over the total budget of £2.4million, which will depend on the quality and number of the applications received.

A competition briefing webinar will take place on 18th June 2015 where potential applicants can clarify any points on the programme stages. The webinar will provide information about the competition, including the scope, application processes and key dates as well as clarify questions on the funding opportunity with experts and programme managers.

Registration closes on 13th August 2015.
