Government to invest £2million in technology inspired innovation

The Technology Strategy Board is to invest up to £2million in feasibility studies to stimulate innovation across a range of core technology areas.

The organisation is seeking proposals from small and micro sized UK businesses in the fields of advanced materials and nanoscale technologies. Areas for potential study include lightweight materials and structures (including composites and hybrid materials), plastic and printed electronics, biomaterials and coating technologies. Up to £2million will be invested through grants of up to £25,000. The competition opens on 12 March 2012 and applications must be submitted by 11 April 2012.
