Innovative fastening company wins Queen's Award

Receiving a Queen's Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2020 is the latest achievement for the design-led business behind Button-fix.

The annual awards administered by the government are among the most prestigious for UK businesses. In 2020, Buttonfix Limited was one of only 66 businesses throughout the country that were recognised for outstanding achievement in innovation.

Innovation is at the core of everything the Button-fix team do - as you would expect from a company founded by product designers with substantial experience designing for the built environment. Since the first product launch in 2012, the range and capabilities of Button-fix has expanded each year, thanks to a programme of continuous product development.

“We’re delighted to have won this prestigious award and to be recognised for our commitment to product innovation” Philip Hall, Technical Manager” Buttonfix Ltd.

The Queen's Award for Enterprise in Innovation will complement Button-Fix’s UK, European and US patents and design awards including the 2017 Sign Industry Product of the Year and the Australian Good Design Award.

Since its launch in 2012, Button-fix has built a phenomenal following within the construction and joinery trades, with its innovative design helping people to fix panels at lightning speed.

The story began when Tony Wills, Brian Watson and their design team developed Button-fix in response to a customer specification for flush invisible mounts to fix washroom panels. After finding that the panel fasteners on the market were awkward to align and difficult to disengage for panel replacement, they created and developed the Button-fix concept: a quick, easy-to-use and reliably accurate way of attaching panels to walls and other surfaces.

Based in Farringdon, London, England the company manufactures all its products in the UK and exports them across the world.
