The firm is starting a Series A round to roll out its solution on a large scale. The firm is also aiming for a EUR 200m turnover in 2030.
CarbonCloud: A Revolutionary Solution for CO2 Capture
The startup has developed CarbonCloud, which develops and installs carbon capture units on the sites of industrial CO2 emitters. The technology captures fumes produced by factories, separating the CO2 by freezing it, then processing it into a liquid gas form. The CO2 is containerised and ready for storage or use.
CarbonCloud is part of the technology that captures CO2 through cryogenics. It captures and processes the carbon dioxide into a usable form. It is suited for incompressible emissions. The technology is also applicable to biogenic CO2 emissions – such as capturing CO2 from green fuels. Revcoo’s technology is non-toxic, solvent-free, waste-free, water-free, and 100% electric.
Goals and Impact of Carbon Capture Technology
By 2030, CarbonCloud will capture 100,000 tonnes of CO₂ per day per installation, and the company aims to capture more than one million tonnes per year. “Our goal is to help shape the balance of tomorrow’s world, through a solution that is both accessible and simple for manufacturers. Revcoo aims to accelerate carbon capture in France and internationally, in anticipation of higher environmental penalties associated with CO₂ emissions. The industrial sector has to change: we aim to contribute in our own way by rolling out a solution to maintain sustainable growth, while reducing its impact on the environment. Our role is to act as a catalyst, beginning a process of mass decarbonisation,” explains Hugo Lucas, President and Founder of Revcoo.
Pilot Phase and Future Plans for Carbon Capture Technology
CarbonCloud technology is now in the pilot phase at a lime production site in Hauts-de-France, which captures 2 tonnes of CO2 per day. After an initial seed funding round of €3.75 million in 2022, Revcoo wants to accelerate its development by raising €20 million in Series A funding. Its aim is to develop an industrial demonstrator with a capacity 10 times greater than its existing pilot, and to continue to develop its technology to make it even more efficient.
Revenue Projections and Industry Impact
In 2025, the company projects it will reach turnover of €1 million, and anticipates strong growth to reach €200 million in turnover in 2030.
