Measurement & Control of Moisture in Materials

National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, UK

Scope This event, organised by the Humidity Club, will present current developments in the field of measuring moisture content in materials. The moisture content in materials has wide reaching effects on material properties, ranging from dimensional, thermal, mechanical, electrical, to chemical and biological performance. Moisture content impacts on many areas of manufacturing, product drying, conservation, construction, power generation, and others. But if we cannot measure, we cannot control. What moisture measurements do we need and make? What advances are in progress? Presentations from industry, instrument companies and academia will include: Moisture measurement in industrial drying On-line NIR moisture analysis Effects of moisture on polymers Water activity and its measurement Magnetic resonance measurements in cements To view the provisional agenda please click here Who should attend? This event is open to anyone making measurements of moisture content in materials, or using humidity measurements to control or assess material moisture content.
