Responding to customer requirements for Industrial automation applications requiring a controller with high functionality, connectivity, and flexibility to meet their demands of modern machines and systems; KEB’s DIN Rail C6 SMART is the smart solution for motion control applications.

Compact Footprint

The C6 SMART is a din rail IPC with an impressively small footprint, designed with the user in mind. With a focus on reduced costs the SMART has a width of 47mm and depth of 124mm. Machine builders can expect to save space and installation costs.

High Performance

While incredibly compact the C6 SMART is equipped with a choice of powerful multi core ARM processors, capable of meeting the requirements of demanding synchronous motion control on advanced real-time control applications. To support the impressive processor performance, 8GB of memory is standard for storing PLC projects and files, with another 4 GB for the operating system and runtime.

Flexibility in integration & Interfaces

When it comes to integrating the embedded control into your system the C6 SMART has an impressive list of interfaces available:

  • Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbit/s
  • EtherCAT master
  • E-Bus LVDS port
  • DVI-D interface (for HMI Visualisation)
  • 2x USB 2.0
  • Serial Interface option (RS232/485)
  • CAN option
  • Multi-colour LED diagnostic interface

By adding an optional extender and coupler modules, tree or branch topologies can be created.

Remote Connectivity

Progressive machine maintenance is required today with the high cost of machine downtime. Users need the ability to remote access machines anywhere at any time. The C6 SMART can be remotely programmed or monitored with a secure end-to-end VPN connection utilizing the functionality of COMBIVIS Connect, certified to IEC 62443.

Rugged and Reliable

Unfortunately, in industrial environments certain events happen that are out of users control. With this in mind the SMART includes innovative memory storage and a micro-UPS with 512KB of persistent/retain memory which helps to save data and files even in the worst cases such as power outages. To further reduce development costs for integrators and machine builders all of this functionality is standard with no special programming tasks.

The C6 Smart is shipped with all the software you need already installed as well as the tools necessary for control, visualisation, and remote maintenance:

• Windows Embedded Compact 7 or optional Linux
• Control: RTE-Basic, RTE-Pro, or RTE-Advanced
• Visualization: HMI-Basic, or HMI-Advanced
• Remote maintenance: Connect
