Addressing Challenges in the Aerospace and Defence Sector Using Simulation

On 5 October, join a free online event exploring the power of simulation, COMSOL Day: Aerospace and Defence. The event will feature keynote presentations from industry experts including NASA Ames Research Center, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon Technologies on how they're using simulation to accelerate the aerospace and defence sector.

The use of modelling and simulation for R&D was pioneered in the aerospace and defence industry, where COMSOL Multiphysics® has become a trusted project platform. New challenges — such as decarbonisation of aviation, electrification, use of composite and ceramic materials, integration of multiple sensors in digital twins and new manufacturing processes — require high-fidelity modelling for efficient and reliable R&D processes.

COMSOL Day: Aerospace and Defence will feature 13 session, including:

  • Modelling in Aerospace and Defence with COMSOL Multiphysics®
  • COMSOL Multiphysics® for Circuit Board Thermal Analysis, Northrop Grumman
  • Thermal Modelling of a Compressor for CO2 Removal in the International Space Station, NASA Ames
  • Multiphysics and Metamaterials: Applications and Opportunities, Raytheon Technologies
  • Metamaterials
  • Composite Materials
  • Tech Lunch
  • Introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics®
  • MEMS
  • Optimisation
  • Heat Transfer in Spacecraft
  • Acoustics & Aeroacoustics
  • Low-Frequency Electromagnetics
