Epoxy compound features outstanding shear and peel strength for bonding, potting, and sealing

Master Bond EP40 is a flexible, low viscosity two component epoxy system for bonding, potting and sealing applications. It features outstanding shear/peel strength properties and superior adhesion to metals, ceramics glass, rubber and most plastics including polycarbonates and acrylics.

Master Bond EP40 forms high performance flexible bonds, seals and castings that offer excellent retention of physical, electrical and chemical properties even after prolonged exposure to unfavorable environmental conditions. It can be used in a wide variety of industries including aerospace, electronic, electrical, medical, optical and automotive. This two component highly flexible epoxy system was developed for high performance bonding, potting, encapsulation, and sealing. It features an exceptional strength profile with shear and peel strengths in excess of 2,000 psi and 45 pli, respectively. EP40 offers notable adhesion to many similar and dissimilar substrates. It has a Shore D hardness of 50-55. It has proven to be highly effective for applications requiring exposure to rigorous thermal cycling and/or an intense mechanical shock environment. The electrical insulation of the cured compound is greater than 1012 ohm-cm. It has low exotherm during cure and is ideal of potting and sealing thick cross-sections. EP40 is formulated to cure readily at ambient temperatures or more quickly at elevated temperatures with a convenient non-critical one to one mix ratio, by weight or volume. The shrinkage after cure is remarkably low (less than 0.1%). This epoxy is 100% reactive and does not contain any volatiles. The service temperature range is from -100°F to +235°F. Its standard color is amber but other colors are available. A non-drip version called EP40ND is also available. www.masterbond.com
