The unique MINISCALE combines a high precision miniature guideway and an optical measuring system in an integrated assembly. Based on Schneeberger's well proven MINIRAIL linear motion guides, these durable high load carrying and exceptionally smooth bearings are suitable for diverse applications from laboratory automation and biotech to laser micromachining and nanotechnologies. The robust integrated digital measurement system includes a precise scale that is etched into the rail surface and an optical reading head on the carriage. With built-in interpolation, the encoder provides a digital TTL output with a typical resolution of 1 micron and repeatability to within +/- 2 microns.
By combining the load bearing and position feedback/measuring functions in one compact assembly, installation is made straightforward with reduced assembly time and overall cost savings. Available in rail widths from 7 mm to 42 mm, MINISCALE can be used for travel lengths to 1 metre with speeds up to 5 m/sec and acceleration to 30g.
Suitable for use with belt, ballscrew or linear servomotor drive transmissions, the integrated bearing and measurement system suits precision positioning in space restricted areas where the low friction, 2-row, miniature recirculating ball and rail motion guide technology places the reading head very close to load to ensure best precision.
