High load bearings for ball screw drives

NSK now manufactures its BSBD series of axial angular contact ball bearings in its HPS standard for high precision bearings. HPS (High Performance Standard) means these new bearings offer higher load factors and are especially suitable for use as the support bearings for ball screw drives in machine tools and automated handling systems.

With the introduction of NSKHPS BSBD bearings, load factors have been increased significantly over standard BSBD bearings, making them even more durable than before. Additional sizes have also been added to the range that now includes bore diameters from 12 to 60mm in two different variants: with mounting holes for flange assembly (BSF) or without mounting holes (BSN, to be used in conjunction with a separate housing component).

These bearings are greased for life and effectively sealed using low friction contact seals in a multi-lip design. This ensures excellent grease retention properties and high resistance to dust penetration, as well as the ability to be operated at high speed. Rather than users having to select between different sealing options in order to ensure high speed capability, NSK bearings meet all requirements in a single version. If any special applications demand bearings with higher axial loads and/or greater stiffness, matched bearing pairs can also be selected.
