The women rocking the tech industry

Technology training and apprenticeship organisation, QA recently uncovered that nearly 50% of a sample of female tech professionals, within public and private sector organisations, were actively discouraged from working in tech by those close to them.

Over 80 women contributed to the survey, which gives an indication of why women are so vastly underrepresented within the field of technology, and account for just 9% of the engineering workforce with no significant growth over the last few years.

This video, produced by QA aims to dispel the perception that tech is just for men, with a message from women who work in tech within the UK (from age 18-80). Hear from a hairdresser, turned tech apprentice, a mum of three cyber security expert, a tech consultant, a teenager software developer, and the Queen of tech Dame Stephanie Shirley.
