Device cuts lubrication costs by 85%

An airless oil projection system designed to cut lubrication costs by as much as 85% has been unveiled by SKF.

The ChainLube is also designed to offer enhanced hygienic performance to meet industrial requirements in sectors such as food and beverage. Because it requires no contact with the chain, SKF claims the system minimises the accumulation of dirt and eliminates wear of lubrication system components. The ChainLube can withstand temperatures down to -40°C and up to 220°C. Its plastic central unit housing offers an ingress protection rating of IP65, eliminating the risk of corrosion and enabling it to withstand washing processes.
