Energy Institute launches publications online

The Energy Institute (EI) has launched a new publications website which promotes and delivers EI publications and guidance codes

. The new onlne service brings together all of the EI’s publications and those of its partners for the very first time. www.energyinstpubs.org.uk is a resource for all those working for and with the energy sector, delivering practical information about the operation, management and direction of this dynamic industry. The EI is responsible for a significant range of technical publications, safety codes and industry standards, guidance notes, research reports, magazines and conference proceedings, many of which represent widely accepted good industry practice and science. Lawrence Slade, EI Deputy Chief Executive and Development Director, says, ‘EI publications are currently sold in more than 80 countries worldwide and with increasing reliance upon electronic communications and downloadable information, the EI is committed to making its publications more accessible and instantaneous to an international audience through this new online service.’ Over the last 12 months, the EI has transformed its publications operations from a traditional print publishing business to a state of the art information resource, covering topics as diverse as design, construction and maintenance of filling stations, through to oil refining and energy management, most of the titles are available as online downloads or by subscription, as well as in hard copy format. Documents on the site can be found by using either the quick search facility or the advanced search tool, allowing the user to refine search criteria. Most titles have sample pages to preview and users are able to access content on a ‘pay per view’ basis or via subscription.
