According to Mike Hawes, SMMT chief executive, this was driven by the home market. "Manufacturers have invested over £1 billion to UK engine production in recent years, which is expected to yield an increase in output."
There was a 0.2% increase in manufacturing in the period of January 2014 to January 2015, with an 11.2% increase in the home market and a drop of 5.6% in the export market.
