Bonding tape for automotive mounting applications

Tesa has added the ACXplus Black Line to its range of bonding tapes. The tape has been introduced primarily for attachment part mounting applications in the automotive sector, such as bumpers, side mouldings, badges, door sill trims, window frames, roof rails and headlight washers.

Available in three thicknesses, tesa 7808 (800µm), tesa 7812 (1200µm) and tesa 7815 (1500µm), the tesa ACXplus Black Line range is said to deliver minimal edge lifting across a wide temperature range down to -40°C. It also provides water sealing, noise dampening and gap closing characteristics.

The viscoelasticity of ACXplus Black Line is claimed to ensure static and dynamic stresses on the bond between the car body and the parts attached to it are dissipated avoiding weak failure spots and delivering a secure bond even during extreme weather and temperature changes.
