Cost effective press-fitting systems

Power costs money. And when presses in electronics and small parts manufacturing are oversized, it can often cost too much. Festo’s YJKP servo press kit is said to allow electric press-fitting applications with up to 17kN to be implemented simply and cost-effectively.

Whether the application is to press-fit printed circuit boards into housings, insert precision parts in clock mechanisms, seal module housings or press-fit and test seals, the YJKP servo press kit is claimed to provide a simple and pre-assembled system solution. It comprises modular operating software and matching standard Festo components. The system can be quickly and easily integrated into almost any press applications.

The modular system allows users to choose between a force range of 0.8 to 17kN, a stroke length of 100 to 400mm, axial or parallel attachment of the motor, and between a single-turn or multi-turn encoder.

The GSAY operating software is pre-installed in the controller and ready for use as soon as system integration is complete. No programming skills are needed and parameterising the press unit is claimed to be simple and intuitive, with information able to be displayed on a PC, tablet or any other type of human-machine interface.
